Christmas has always been Kate O’Connor’s favorite time of the year, but this season—despite her battery-operated twinkle-light earrings—she’s feeling far from festive. In fact, she’s wallowing in a generous dose of self-pity over the loss of her father, the train wreck that was her engagement, and an unsavory setback in her career. To make matters worse, her boss at the Cline & Co. ad agency has volunteered her to be the one-woman welcoming committee for Gavin Whyte, the VIP client from across the pond who could be the key to saving their struggling business. Eager to prove she’s a team player, Kate resolves to show Gavin a good time, hoping his dazzling blue eyes, his delicious Irish accent, and her own propensity for disaster don’t cause her to torpedo the company’s chances of recovery.

Whyte Christmas is a feel-good book, not one of those romances where two people meet and immediately fall in bed together. It's the kind of love story young girls (and older ones too) daydream about. Kate and Gavin experience a leisurely unfolding of their feelings, as each one sees what they need and want in the other. I can't help following the couple in my mind after the story ends, and I see them on that farm in Ireland, tending crops and animals, and living happily ever after. Good job, Michele Brouder.Product details

A Whyte Christmas The Happy Holidays Series Book 1 edition by Michele Brouder Jessica Peirce Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This was a delightful read about falling in love and all the mishaps that can and do occur along the way. We root for the main characters all along the way even though the odds are against them. This is far different from Brouders first book set in the supernatural world of saving souls. She is showing a wide range of interests and ways to express it.
At last! A clean but still very romantic story. Perfect story line and dialog between the main characters, with many realistic and funny scenes. I loved both of the story lines with her neighbor and her ex, but the real prize of the novel is the clean but very romantic love scene in the hotel. Think a bit more risqué than a Hallmark Christmas movie, but nothing ridiculous. Well done!
I enjoyed this book immensely. The story is filled with quirky moments and a whole lot of fun. I found myself rooting for Kate and Gavin, the two main characters. A story of hope, love and charm, A Whyte Christmas is witty and endearing and just a great read. As the title suggests, it is perfect for this time of year. So curl up in front of the fireplace and delve into a fun story!
This is a sweet love story. A quirky heroine with lots of confusion and police involvement that finally lead to a HEA. Recommend this story if you are looking for a feel good kind of story.
Not everyone can write humor and Michele Brouder writes it very well. This book is laugh out loud funny. Wonderful characters, engaging situations and certainly a nice warm, cozy Christmas feel, as well. Ms. Brouder is a lavishly talented, true wordsmith. I'm "following" this author for sure. I highly recommend this book to anyone, especially those who don't have a sense of humor because by the time they finish the book, they will have one.
I agree with the other reviewers--this was a feel good holiday romance. Kate reminded me a little of me, especially her loyalty to her friends (no matter what) and family. I loved Gavin as well. I liked the setting of Buffalo and the side trip to the Canadian side of Niagara falls that turned out not so great for Gavin. I love romantic comedies and this was one of the best I've read in a while. I'd like to read more books by this author.
If you enjoy romantic comedy, you’ll fall in LOVE with this delightful Christmas story! No matter how busy my day, I looked forward to relaxing with the dashing Gavin and adorable Kate. As a bonus, there are a number of unconventional characters who round out the novel, making this an all-around enjoyable book. The unlikely duo will definitely work their way into your heart. I highly recommend “A Whyte Christmas” to anyone looking for an endearing romance. What a satisfying read!
